Welcome to Tipi
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Tipi mobile application and services. By accessing or using Tipi, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
IMPORTANT: Please read these Terms carefully. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use Tipi.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account or using Tipi, you affirm that:
- You have read, understood, and agree to these Terms
- You have read and agree to our Privacy Policy
- You meet the eligibility requirements (see Section 2)
2. Eligibility
2.1 Age Requirements
You must be at least 13 years old to use Tipi.
- Under 13: You may NOT create an account or use Tipi
- Ages 13-17: You may use Tipi, but you must have your parent or guardian's permission
- Age 18+: You may use Tipi without parental consent
Age Verification: During signup, you will be asked to enter your date of birth. Providing false information is a violation of these Terms and may result in account termination.
2.2 Account Restrictions
You may NOT use Tipi if:
- You are under 13 years old
- Your account has been previously terminated for violating these Terms
- You are prohibited by law from using Tipi
3. Account Registration
3.1 Creating an Account
To use Tipi, you must create an account using Google Sign-In or Apple Sign-In. You will be asked to provide:
- Display name
- Phone number
- Date of birth
- Profile photo (optional)
Accurate Information: You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration. Providing false information (including a false age) is a violation of these Terms.
3.2 Account Security
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account
- You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account

4. Acceptable Use
4.1 Permitted Uses
You may use Tipi to:
- Discover and join location-based chat rooms
- Communicate with other users via text messages and media
- Share photos, videos, and documents in chats
- Find friends via contact syncing (opt-in)
4.2 Prohibited Conduct
You may NOT:
- Illegal Activity: Use Tipi for any illegal purpose or to violate any laws
- Harassment: Harass, bully, stalk, or threaten other users
- Hateful Content: Post content that promotes violence, hatred, or discrimination
- Sexual Content: Share sexually explicit content, especially involving minors
- Spam: Send unsolicited commercial messages or spam
- Impersonation: Impersonate another person or entity
- Security: Attempt to access or tamper with Tipi's systems
- Multiple Accounts: Create multiple accounts for fraudulent purposes
5. Content
5.1 Your Content
You retain ownership of content you post on Tipi. However, by posting content, you grant Tipi a license to:
- Store and display your content
- Deliver your content to other users
- Moderate your content for safety and compliance
5.2 Content Moderation
We reserve the right to:
- Remove content that violates these Terms
- Suspend or terminate accounts for violations
- Report illegal content to law enforcement
6. Privacy & Data
Your privacy is important to us. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand how we collect, use, and protect your information.
Key Points:
- We collect location data to show you nearby chat rooms
- We do NOT store your location history
- You can delete your account and all your data at any time
- You can request a copy of your data (CCPA/GDPR right)
7. Termination
7.1 Your Right to Terminate
You may delete your account at any time in Settings > Account > Delete Account. This will permanently delete all your data.
7.2 Our Right to Terminate
We may suspend or terminate your account if:
- You violate these Terms
- You are found to be under 13 years old
- Your account is used for illegal activity
- Required by law
8. Disclaimers
Tipi is provided "AS IS" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that:
- The app will be error-free or uninterrupted
- Content posted by users is accurate or reliable
- Your interactions with other users will be safe
Safety: Use caution when meeting people you've connected with on Tipi. We are not responsible for your interactions with other users.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Tipi shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app.
10. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify you via email and/or in-app notification. Your continued use of Tipi after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
